What if we told you the blueberries were purple? O What if we told you the blueberries were purple? Or, red? And blue? A little bit of all three! Wild blueberries are more purplish-blue than the big clones you see in the grocery store (which don’t really have much color) and makes for a great glass of “blue” bubbly!

We had no idea how well this would age but here we are 8 years in and confidently say this wine will go for decades. Crazy antioxidants doing for wine the same thing they do for us - slow the decay!

But decay is sooo good so order up the Meddybemps from @joshpondmaine and get a wedge of Rosy Woodsman while you're at it. A lively match with bluet.

Among the families we partner with for their wild Among the families we partner with for their wild blues are Jeff and Trudy Beardsworth in Blue Hill. We started working with them in 2019 when they raked 20,000 lbs from Jake Pasture down by Sedgwick. Since a field crops only every other year, we finally returned to making wine from here last year. Jake's is a piece of ground that is more gravel than soil and although wild blueberries are all "low bush" these bushes truly hug the ground. A berry here looks happy and surprised to even be a juicy berry in such a place. Or maybe that's just us projecting? What a crazy ancient fruit this is! Making wild blueberry bubbly is, at it's deepest, a way for us to stop time and bring summer in Maine to you - all bottled up!
