The first berries of harvest are a little tart - perfect for homemade pie. 8 cups of berries tossed with a little sugar. Tried @samsifton recipe with slurry of cornstarch, sugar and blended berries but it made no difference. Fresh pie is always runny on day one - and sooo good. All butter crust is a must! @nytcooking has a good recipe but I use just one stick of butter per half crust.
